William S. Yerkes' Obituary
William Stuart Yerkes, 83, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was born January 8, 1932 in Orange, New Jersey and moved to Lake County in 1986 from Deerfield Beach. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from North Shore Hospital, Miami, as Director of Environmental Services.
He is survived by his children, Shirley Yerkes Martin and Linda Yerkes Stryker, both of Rock Hill, South Carolina; Charles William Yerkes III of Daytona Beach Shores, FL, and Terry Scott Yerkes of Pittsburg, PA; his grandchildren, Mandy Goodwin, Samantha Martin, Duane Knabe, Justin Davenport, Christopher Yerkes, Michael Yerkes, and Jonathan Yerkes; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Rockwell Yerkes.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish. At William Yerkes' request, no service will be held. He will be interred at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
