Steven J. Foley's Obituary
Mr. Steven J. Foley of Tavares, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the age of 66 years. He was born in El Paso, Texas and was very proud of his Texas heritage. Steve was a long time resident of Tavares, moving here in 1954. He loved his “Norman Rockwell” childhood and the life-long friends that he developed in the small town of Tavares. He attended Emory Riddle and was a Corporate Pilot for 40 years. He retired as the Flight Department Manager for the Villages Flight Department. Besides flying, Steve had a true passion for sailing and enjoyed time with family and friends on his sailboat – “Winds of Change”. Steve adored his beautiful granddaughters and loved to spend time with them. The memories of the 28 years he and Dru spent together will be deeply cherished. Steve is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife, Dru; daughter, Traci Paulling and her husband, Hunt of Oakland, Florida; brother, Ronald Foley of Tavares; granddaughters, Jordan Paulling and Leah Paulling, both of Oakland, Florida; niece, Terri Grant and her husband, Doug of Lutz, Florida and great niece, Nichole DeSouza of Tampa, Florida. A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 9:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Condolences, memories, photos and videos may be shared on the tribute wall. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cornerstone Hospice of Tavares or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
