Richard D. Vine's Obituary
Richard D. Vine, age 70, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at his winter home in Tavares, FL. He was also a resident of Adams Center, NY. Mr. Vine was born May 5, 1945, the son of Grant and Dora LaBreck Vine in Watertown, NY. He graduated from Watertown High School and joined the U.S. Army. Upon discharge from the service, he was employed by the New York Airbrake Company for many years. Mr. Vine is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. Flint Vine and their children and their spouses; Dora and Kenneth Stevens of Adams Center, NY, Donna and Andrew St. Laurent of Woodbridge, VA, and Douglas and Allison Vine of Schenectady, NY. Two children, David and Dorothea, preceded him in death. He has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Judy Hutton of Murfreesboro, TN, Janette Engel of North Charleston, SC, Shirley Sweet of Watertown, NY; plus several nieces and nephews. Three brother died before him, Donald, Gary, and Scott Vine. Richard Vine was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, watching sports, and his friends at Mid Lake Resorts in Florida. He was a great family man and especially loved being a grandfather. Burial will be in New York at a later date to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, 226 E.
