Peter was a good friend of my late father, Steamboat Williams, and a customer of his service station where Peter got his car serviced. Peter used my dad in several of his produced materials and I have a poster with Dad's picture on it promoting the teaching of adults to read. The poster hangs on the wall in my den.
It was Peter's risky search for truth that revealed the beauty. It was the risk that gave his life zest, and it was the zest that gave his films a voice.
He led his life at 24 frames per second, and the rest of us just applauded from the sidelines.
"Perfect, Peter; Let's shoot it again..."

Peter J - You will be missed!
I have had the distinct pleasure of working with, and collaborating on numerous projects, films, documentaries, advertising concepts, and political campaigns from our first meeting, way back in 1968, nearly five decades ago. Peter, your acumen and 'eye' for innovative film presentations, balanced with your creative strengths, humor and industry knowledge made every production with you a delight.
Together our firms worked on, and achieved numerous successes and industry awards. In my mind, the most prestigious was for our joint venture campaign dealing with the national problem of child abuse and neglect, one of which was awarded "Best PSA in The Nation" by the Chicago International Film Festival. Great work!
To Peter's family, brother Paul Barton, sister Joella (Bob) Foster, and his extended family of nieces and grandnieces, we send our blessings and condolences. Peter J. Barton, a jovial, talented icon for film production and cinematography in north Florida and a 'fun' guy; you were the Best Man in our wedding. We love you.
