Patricia Anne Lee's Obituary
Patricia Anne Lee passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the age of 84 years. She was born in Miami, Florida. Patricia was a very independent woman her entire life. After raising her children, she decided to go back to school at the age of 36. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She started her career as a Registered Nurse working at the Miami Heart Institute. Pat eventually went to work for the University of Miami and the VA, doing research work. She had an amazing and accomplished 30-year career and was honored by many doctors for her contributions, inventions and research in the healthcare field. She also became extremely computer literate during her lifetime.
Patricia believed in family first. Throughout her life, she lovingly opened her home to family members. She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist faith. She absolutely loved Christmas and would decorate with beautiful displays that included computerized music and lights on her home. She also enjoyed scrapbooking.
She moved to Leesburg from Pembroke Pine in the Miami area and eventually relocated to St. Augustine and then to Palm Coast.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Charles Brian Fink, Jr. Patricia is remembered and will be dearly missed by her son, Gary Wayland of Palm Coast, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Brian and Virginia Fink of Port Saint Lucie, FL; sisters, Leta Mae Ballantyne of Greenville, SC and Katrina H. Haughy of Leesburg, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Simone Harrod of San Antonio, TX and Norman Barry and Charlene Harrod of Houston, TX; her brother, Andrew S. Harrod also went before her, leaving his widow, sister-in-law, Gloria Harrod of Zolfo Springs, FL; also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Kelly Fink, Matthew Fink and Stephanie A. Lucas; as well as 6 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 29 from 10:00 – 11:00 am with a memorial ceremony starting at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
