Oscar’s obituary mentions his humble beginnings. I knew Oscar from a very young age (pre-teen) and I can attest that Oscar’s family was very, very poor. He refused to let his disadvantaged upbringing define him. Instead, he chose to apply himself, work hard, be dependable and develop skills. What he accomplished with his life was amazing. Oscar was one of the best school board employees in Lake County. He developed so many skills and he credited others for teaching him so much over the years. Oscar’s illness and premature death causes tremendous sadness to his many friends but he will always be remembered as a man who overcame the odds and created and lived a life of accomplishment. Oscar earned our admiration and respect. We send our heartfelt sorrow to Kathy and their Family. RIP Oscar. You most certainly led a life of example.
