Nina Margaret Richards' Obituary
Nina Margaret Richards, 78, of Tavares, FL, passed away on October 7, 2022. She was born on September 18, 1944, in Mount Vernon, OH, to her parents: Edgar Lee and Florence Donna (Gallagher) Oakes. Nina, along with her husband Bob, was a business owner of Gator Inlet and Smiley’s Gator Pub in Tavares. She was a lifetime member of AMVETS and the VFW. Nina enjoyed traveling in their motorhome to visit family and friends, boating, singing (with her beautiful voice), dancing, cooking delicious meals and watching game shows.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years: Robert “Bob” Richards; children: Jennifer Lynn (Daniel) Cook, Ralph L. (Lou Ann) Smith Jr., Raymond Richards and Brandon (Tracey) Farner; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Brother: Lyle (Donna) Berg; sister: Virgene (Andy) Koerner; sister-in-law: Debbie Berg; Aunt: Joan Gallagher. She was preceded in death by: David Oakes, Mary Ellen Oakes, Phillip Berg, Debbie Lemmings and sister-in-law Beth Kloke
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00AM with a gathering of friends and family one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00AM at Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares, FL. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be held at AMVETS at 32201 AMVETS Way in Mt. Dora, FL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice or AMVETS. Online condolences can be left on the tribute wall.
