Mary, 97, of Leesburg Fl., passed away on May 6, 2020. Mary was born June 7, 1922 in Chicago Hts., Il., to Ralph and Mathilda Angellotti. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Peter, her son Jack (Patricia), her brother Anthony (the late Shirley), and her sisters; Clara (the late Bernard) Travaglini, Nancy (Charles) Labaj, and Betty (the late Ervin) Koelling. She is survived by her daughters Matilda (George) Stine, and Karen (Glenn) Dreesen; 8 grandchildren, Peter (Carmen), Catherine (Paul), Thomas, Jeffrey (Jamie), Cara (Paul), Linda (Roger), Diane (Kevin), Daniel (Alina). She was blessed by 19 great grandchildren, 12 great, great grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mary was a volunteer member and President of The Purple Heart Women's Auxillary unit 252, dedicated to serving war veterans. She was a hairdresser in the 1950's and 1960's, but her true passion was cooking and teaching her Italian family recipes to her family in hopes they will be passed down for generations. She fully expected everyone to be present for Sunday night dinner and would never let you leave without a second serving. She was a partner in 2 restaurants and was consulted regularly for her expertise in perfecting recipes.
Mary's celebration of life will be planned for later this year in Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105 or [email protected].
