So many times I reminisce about my days working at the Takoma Academy Auto Donation Center with Mr. Shadwick at the helm with Jim Morgan as his sidekick. Things weren't the same when he left in many ways.
I decided I wanted to see if I could find him and was saddened to see this being the first thing in the Google results tonight (10/25/25).
I can still remember him responding to me saying, "See you later" with "Not if I see you first." Or if I got to thinking out loud, he'd ask "Are you talking to yourself again?" And if I said, "Yes" he'd respond, "That's okay as long as you don't talk back." (Can't say I didn't do that too🤫).
The love and pride he showed to TA during his time there was incredible. I've always been proud knowing I was there and part of the process of starting to have the auctions there at the school. It was a busy time but I loved it. I'm so thankful that he gave me a chance to work there and believed in my abilities as a student worker. RIP Mr. Shadwick. See you in the Morning when Jesus comes (Unless you see me first).
