I worked for John in Necedah at the Countryside. John was much more to me than just an employer, he was family. John taught me good work ethics. John is the man who taught me to drink black coffee, which I still do to this day. I will never ever forget John Hickman. I wish I could have seen him once more before he passed.
John was such a great guy! He was my first employer and a great friend to my family. He always had a smile on his face. I loved his attitude! I cannot express how sad I am to hear he is no longer with us. God and the angels are surely getting a gem. Hope they like to laugh! God bless you Arlette and your family during this tough time. I worked for John & Arlette when they owned/operated the Countryside Restaurant in Necedah, WI. Little did I know how much John & Arlette would come to mean to me and my family. When they sold the restaurant and moved to Florida, I bawled when their moving truck went by our house. When we found out that we were having another son and were looking for the middle name, we decided to name him after John. Shayne John will carry on John's gift of gab. I am so glad of the time we've had together and will remember all of the good times we shared. We will miss him terribly.
Over 6 years ago when I started at Blount Honda John was one of the first people I met. He had a contagious smile and was so nice. He never had a harsh word about anyone or anything. We need more people in the world like John. He has left a very empy spot in our hearts.
We are born into families without being able to choose our siblings. I have been so blessed to have a brother like John and more a dear friend. I would have to write volumes in order to be able to tell all the great memories.
You have been a wonderful brother-in-law, an exceptional uncle and God Father to our daughter, and a friend to all.
John will be missed by all, but never forgotten. Rest well in the Lord's comforting hands. Thanks for the memories...
