John Walter Bogue's Obituary
John Bogue, beloved husband, father and grandfather, moved to Glory land on January 29, 2018. John was born on September 29, 1931 to Rolland and Fern Bogue in Detroit, Michigan.
John loved music, his wife, his children, grandchildren, his church and the ocean. John is a graduate of the University of Michigan and was in the U.S., Army, serving in Seoul, Korea as an Engineer Supply Specialist, and then met and married the love of his life in Ohio. John was a Business owner and teacher. He had paper routes since a young boy, sold cars, drove trucks, and owned Bogue’s Standard Service gas station in Holt, Michigan and Village Coin laundromat in Tavares, Florida. John went to Michigan State University to earn his masters and a teaching degree. John taught Business classes at Charlotte High School in Charlotte, Michigan and at Pasco Comprehensive High School in Dade City, Florida and at Key West High School in Key West, Florida. John loved photography and set up a dark room and took pictures, which were published in the Key West Citizen.
John loved music! He played the piano, trombone, guitar, dobro, banjo, autoharp, mandolin, and harmonica. He wrote songs and formed a Bogue Family Band with his (volunteer!) children and sang in churches across the country. The Bogue Family also had a radio show in Key West during the 70’s. John formed the Pure Country Band in Tavares and they performed at the Sunshine Opry and at Cassia and in nursing homes in Lake County.
John will be greatly missed for his adventurous spirit by his wife Phyllis Lucille Rider Bogue and his children Donna Huston, Sara Watson (Evan), Barbara Sanders(Greg), Roy Bogue (Susan) and Angela Bogue. John has already reunited with his son Charlie Bogue in Glory land. John and Phyllis have 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who will also miss him.
John is “Living a New Life” with Jesus evermore and we will see him soon at the “Meeting in the Air” because “I Know, I Know” there’s no doubt about it, He(Jesus) is real in our hearts and we are going to shout it! We love you Daddy.
