I never had the honor of meeting Mrs. Ireland. I have heard a great deal about her over the last few years from my Mom (Jan Gibbons). She knew her from an exercise class they were in together. When Mrs. Ireland learned that I was serving with the Army in Afghanistan a number of years ago she gratiously and without hesitation helped provide some money for a care package that was sent to my unit. I just wanted to pass along my thanks and the thanks of the many Soldiers I served with who received that package.
