Mr. Jay Theodore Gilson, Sr. of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the age of 88 years. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. Jay served his country in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He retired after more than 22 years of service. He loved to read, especially westerns and play Golf in his free time. He is survived by his daughter, Linda G. Lackey of Mount Dora, FL and Nancy Gilson of Winter Park, FL; son, Jay T. Gilson, Jr. of Winter Park; sister, Dorothea Schultz of Orange City, FL; 5 grandchildren, Kari Solomon of Mount Dora, Mark Petrey of High Springs, FL, Chase Lackey of Mount Dora, Cassie King of Winter Park and Jason Gilson of Orlando, FL; and great granchildren, Brycen Solomon and Riley Solomon. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL. Condolences may be shared by signing the guestbook below.
