Iris White Beauregard's Obituary
Iris White Beauregard, age 101, of Eustis, Florida, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2025, at her home with her loving daughter Karen at her side. Iris was born in Corinna, Maine to Percy and Alma White, the third of seven children on March 28, 1923. Iris was raised in Massachusetts and remained connected to her childhood friends she made there throughout her life. After graduating high school, Iris attended Burbank School of Nursing in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and became a registered nurse. During her nurse’s training, she met the love of her life, Robert N. Beauregard. Iris and Bob married on January 11, 1945, and they shared a beautiful life together raising their two daughters in Warwick, RI before moving to Florida in 1979.
During their 68-year marriage, Iris and Bob loved playing cards, spending time with their many friends, and forging close bonds with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laughter and love were abundant whenever Iris and Bob were around.
Iris dedicated her professional life to her work as a registered nurse, providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients in multiple hospitals in Massachusetts, North Carolina and Rhode Island, and later, after she moved to Florida, at Leesburg Memorial Hospital. She passed on that commitment to caring for others to her daughter Karen, who followed in her footsteps as a registered nurse, and her daughter Joanne, who served as a corrections officer. After her retirement, Iris dedicated her time to numerous volunteer causes, including Friends of the Tavares Library, Alzhemier Helpers, mentor at the middle school in Tavares and more. Additionally, Iris was an accomplished gardener, loved poetry and reading and was known to her family and friends as one of the most skilled word-game players on the planet.
In the final years of her life, Iris was fortunate to take several trips that she had dreamed of for many years, including a 100th birthday trip to Paris with Karen, her grandson Andrew, and her granddaughter-in-law Rachel, and a road trip with her daughter Karen to visit all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren while stopping at many beautiful gardens and parks along the way. Iris stayed in touch with her friends and family regularly, sending letters and cards as well as embracing new technology of text messages and social media.
Above all, Iris was regarded by all as an incredibly caring and kind person who balanced extraordinary generosity with a deep respect for both her own autonomy and the values of others. She had the biggest heart, warmly welcoming the spouses of her children and grandchildren into the family and forging deep, enduring bonds with each of them. Iris found great joy in getting to know and love her great-grandchildren, cherishing the time she spent with them and the memories they created together.
Iris touched countless lives, not only of her family and friends but also of neighbors and stray animals who were blessed by her kindness, strong spirit, good humor, judgment-free friendship, and endless generosity (and bottomless stores of treats). ❤️❤️❤️
Iris is lovingly remembered by all who knew her, and especially by her two daughters, Joanne Posten of Indiantown, FL and Karen L. Frank of Eustis, FL; her two sons-in-law, Gerald Posten of Indiantown, FL, and Mark D. Frank of Eustis, FL ; her three grandchildren, Adam M. Ramos

Ramos of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, her three grandchildren-in-law, Tracy Cooper Ramos of Bristol, RI, David Ritchie of Oberlin, OH, and Rachel Ramos of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; her five great-grandchildren, Tiago S. Ramos-Reilly of Oberlin, OH, Maxwell J. Ramos of Bristol, RI, Olivia R. Ramos of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, Lillian A. Ramos of Bristol, RI, and Brooklyn A. Ramos of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, and so many others who knew and loved her. Iris also shared a lifelong bond with her six siblings who predeceased her, Phyllis McDonnell, Priscilla Wright, Flora Sparrell, Joanne Roberts, Ray White, and David White and relationships with her many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Iris and her family would appreciate donations to these three non-profits which she supported for many years, Cornerstone Hospice, Habitat for Humanity, or The Salvation Army,
A Celebration of Iris’s life will be held on March 28, 2025 at 2:00PM at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lake County, 1235 Mt. Homer Rd. Eustis, Fl. 32726
