Iola Marie Christensen's Obituary
Iola Marie Christensen passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born 30 June 1950 in Ontario, California.
She had a passion for reading and learning from her youth. She loved to read novels and enjoyed crossword and jig saw puzzles. She valued education and made sure she taught her children to love it also.
The most important thing in life was her family. She was always very fierce and determined to keep everyone safe, happy and loved. Iola took great joy in serving her family and it brought her the most joy. She made the most amazing blueberry muffins which were gone almost as soon as she took them out of the oven. She looked forward to yearly vacations and some of her favorite memories were the summers spent at Flint Creek with family and friends.
She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Roy, for almost 44 years. They worked hard together to raise a family, sacrificing much for their children. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti, Utah temple. She treasured and lived by the family motto, “Hugs and Kisses, Circles and Strings”. She loved her grandchildren and was so proud of them. They knew they could always come to Maw Maw or Grandma with anything. She was always in their corner.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many capacities from Primary teacher, Seminary teacher, and in the Relief Society. Though her health precluded her from attending in her later years, she had a strong testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was inspiring and her family leaned on that faith several times over the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Edward Wolfe and Reba Coker; Daughter, Jenny; son, Brent and granddaughter, Shelby. She is survived by her husband, Roy; daughter, Julie Cupach (Matthew), daughter in law, Jennifer Christensen, and grandchildren Caleb, Matthew and Isabella.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 5-7:30 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2615 Waycross Ave., Eustis, FL 32726.
Special thanks to Vitas Hospice and for their loving and compassionate care in her last few weeks. They truly treated her with compassion and dignity and it was a blessing for her and her family.
Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
