I was first introduced to Wally when I came to Osprey Lodge as the new activities director in 2014. What a lovely lady! Intelligent, witty, lots of interesting stories to tell about her life experiences and travel- she was always a joy to chat with. She was also the star of my "Mind Your Mind" brain workout program- no brain teaser or logic puzzle could stump her for long. Another thing I loved about Wally is how kind and caring she was- she would always ask after my husband John, who worked here briefly, or would ask how my family was.
I watched her put a brave face on, and do the best she could every day, even when she wasn't feeling well. It was a blessing to me to know her, to learn from her, and to enjoy her company. She will be missed- we loved her!
My sympathy to the family. I know she was a strong anchor for all of you, and a loving mother, wife and friend. My prayers are with you at this time.
Warmly,
Ruth Cantillon

PS- the photo is from a pontoon boat ride our residents went on some months back. Wally told some great stories about her days as a captain giving boat tours with Dick through the Dora Canal- and added some interesting narrative to the journey that day.
