Don Jorge (as we knew him in our home town in Puerto Rico) was one of those special characters most of us wish to come across because of the new perspectives they bring to our lives. His military career was something he always talked about with out most respect and pride even when his most painful health issues were a consequence of it. He was my inspiration to join the Army and become a paratrooper. We took different paths after I joined and lost track of each other for decades but I thank God for the opportunity to let him know about by 25 years of military career and how he was a part of it. He was a fighter all the way to the very end, oh yes, and I will always remember him as such. Rest in peace old warrior for you will always live in our hearts.
the war stories.... they always had me mesmerized !!! even though I heard them a thousand times, I always wanted to hear them just one more time. loved that guy.
