Gary Dean Asher's Obituary
Gary Dean Asher of Tavares, Florida passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the age of 79 years. He was born in Ferndale, Washington to Howard and Rose Asher. Gary proudly served his country in the US Army. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Business. Gary worked for Dow Chemical for 31 years before retiring. He and his wife, Lois, have been snowbirds, wintering in Tavares from Indianapolis since 1999. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares. Gary loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and a good game of Golf. He and Lois loved to take road trips on his motorcycle. He also enjoyed making stained glass. Gary is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 19 years, Lois Frye; daughter, Cheryl Asher of Puyallup, Washington; son, Dean Asher of Puyallup; step-son Greg Frye of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Rich Asher of Renton, Washington and William Asher of Silverdale, Washington; grandchildren, Julie Dennis of Puyallup, Jacob Rogers of Washington, Joshua Rogers of Washington, Natalie Frye of Middletown, Ohio and Sara Frye of the Cincinnati area; and special family friend, Kelly Mahoney of Tavares. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Rogers. Services will be held in Washington State at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the First United Methodist Church, 600 W. Ianthe Street, Tavares, FL 32778. Condolences, memories, photos and videos may be shared on the tribute wall.
