Dorothy Ann Rose's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Ann Rose (Job), who passed away on July 8, 2024 at the age of 86.
Born on December 1, 1937 in Kenmore, NY, to Andrew and Mary Job (Stanley) she grew up in her hometown attending Kenmore East High School with her late sister, Kay and late brother, Andy (Mary Ann).
After her first marriage ended in the tragic death of her late husband, Frederick Eugene Blair in a race car, she continued to live in Western New York with his and her children, Kathryn (Ken Irwin), Joy (Dan Cutting), Loretta (Robert Driskel) and Eugene Buddy (Barbara Blair).
In 1963, she married Thomas William Rose and for the next 60+ years was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband and a devoted mother to all seven of their children, the four Dorothy brought into the marriage, and she lovingly added William and Debra, (Rick Schrim) two children that Tommy brought into their marriage after the tragic death of his first wife in a race car, and together they created a son, Robert (Melanie Rose).
Dorothy lived a fulfilling life and was a lady of many talents. Her tuna macaroni salad was the highlight of family gatherings. She loved playing the piano, loving her cats, going to and watching car races, and watching “General Hospital.” Her favorite past times were eating dinner out on Taco Tuesday and going to Jeremiah’s Friday’s for fish fry and her one and only cocktail of the week, Kahlua and cream.
Dorothy’s love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile, sense of humor, and warm personality.
She is survived by her daughter’s Kitty, Joy, Loretta, Debra and son Buddy. Also, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lake County Animal Shelter in memory of Dorothy A. Rose.
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
