Charles Enoch Bard's Obituary
Charles Enoch Bard 96, of Eustis, FL passed away on Monday September 12, 2016. Charles was born on March 14, 1920 in Muskegon, MI to the late Enoch and Freida Bard. Charles was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Charles enlisted on August 10, 1942 and was honorably discharged on November 16, 1945. During his 3 years with the United States Army Charles served in World War II, the Guadalcanal, Northern Solomons, the Western Pacific, and the Southern Philippines. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He and his wife Gladys got married on February 14, 1947 in Muskegon, MI. They later moved to Palm Bay, FL in 1961 and then to Lake County, FL in 1991. Charles was an active member of Grace Community Church in Palm Bay, FL. Charles was self-employed for many years. He owned and operated an A&W Root Beer stand in Holland, MI and later a Laundry in Melbourne, FL. Charles was known for his funny and unique sense of humor. He enjoyed making people laugh and playing Golf. One of his favorite jobs that he had later in life was being a greeter at Wal-Mart. Charles was a loving Husband, Father, and Friend who will be deeply missed by many. He is predeceased by his older brother and sister. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 69 years: Gladys Bard, of Eustis, FL; Daughter: Charlene (William) Holmes, of Wolcott, CT; and Son: David Charles (Carolyn) Bard, of Carrollton, GA.
