Angie I was so saddened to hear of Carl's passing and want to extend my very sincere condolences. It was so nice to get to know you both and I will always remember Carl's wonderful attitude and sense of humor. I am so pleased that Sophia was such a help to Carl and believe they saved each other. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
I can remember so many times me and Pops (Larry) would go and visit uncle Carl. Hunting with the boys and him being an all around wonderful man. I'm sorry to hear about his passing and send my condolences. Another great Purvee man lost.
Uncle Carl was such a nice man. Every conversation we had was full of great laughs. He showed us family support everytime we needed it. Which made his hug that much stronger.
We will forever miss him. We honor him for his service and admire his protection of our country. I respect him as an uncle and how he protected our family.
Our favorite thing about Uncle Carl was his patience. And his calm demeanor.

I first met Carl when I was 9 yrs old. That’s around the time my mother and him started dating. It took both of us a while to find common ground (because both of us are very hardheaded). But over time it eventually happened. I have called you Dad for the last 28 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. During our time together, you taught me how to fish, hunt, and be a man. You taught me through your actions, how to work hard for what you have and not to worry about what others are doing. Most importantly you taught me how to be a father to my 4 kids. I will never forget our talks late at night on the porch, him helping fix my old chevy truck or his love of Clint Eastwood movies! We had many drives up to North Florida to hunt and visit family and I will cherish those moments of us on the road and in the woods. The woods and our hearts will never be the same without you Dad.
Carl volunteered at the Hilltop Community Center one distribution day as a "waggoneer". He wasn't well and ignored my suggestions to take a break. What a tribute his family and loving wife are to this man of dignity and integrity. Rest in peace dear Carl until the Lord descends to raise us up with new life and take us to be with Him eternally. 1Thessolonians 4:16 offer such wonderful words of comfort. God Bless you all and comfort you with His glorious promises!
Love, Becky Russell
I have precious memories and four wonderful children with Carl. I am thankful for the years we had together.
