Although we were separated for a very long time, I'll never forget his voice singing along to the radio outside of our home while he would be tinkering around with our fishing gear, watering our plants, frying up fish, playing with our dogs, or doing his "Grill Master" things. I met him while I was working at a convenience store in Eustis and he was a regular customer. I'll never forget the way he'd walk in, smiling ear to ear, twinkle in his eyes and he'd always say "Hello, Darlin'!". The day I went to sign a lease for a new apartment, I ran into Carl outside of the building and he asked me what I was doing at his end of town with a smile and a little laugh. I told him I just signed a lease for a new apartment and found out he was my new upstairs neighbor. Carl would always offer to help me out with fixing things around my apartment and watched over my daughter when I would be out at work. We sat on the porch many days and evenings just talking and laughing. A year and a half later, Carl asked me on a date for Super Bowl Sunday, 2/3/13. He grilled bacon wrapped chicken that night but got a little distracted with conversation and overcooked it and we ordered pizza. We laughed about that first night for a long time and were pretty much inseparable after that, other than him going to work. We were legally married on 12/13/14. Although we separated, I never have nor ever will stop loving Carl and will always hold those good memories in my heart.
