Agnes E. O'Neill Farrell's Obituary
Agnes O’Neill Farrell passed into eternal rest on September 05, 2012, in Tavares, FL. Agnes was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 19, 1923, one of seven children born to Irish immigrants, Michael and Helena (Boyle) O’Neill. She married Paul V. Farrell in August 1941 and they spent their early years in Brooklyn before moving to Liberty Corner, NJ, subsequently to Hackettstown, NJ, then to Equinunk, PA, and finally to Mt. Dora, FL. Agnes was predeceased by husband Paul in 1987 and later by brothers Bryan O’Neill and Neil O’Neill, and by sisters Mary McLaughlin, and Margaret (Peggy) Picone-Bettencourt. Above all else, Agnes loved her immediate and extended family and was always anxious to talk about them. She is survived by six loving children: Mary Ellen (Frank) Crane of Mt. Dora, FL; Agnes Ann (Edward) Smith of Sanford, NC; Robert (Susan) Farrell of Laguna Niguel, CA; COL (US Army Ret) Peter (Marilyn) Farrell of Augusta, GA; Virginia (William) Gotthardt of Hancock, NY, and John (Stacey) Farrell of Quincy, MA. She is also survived by her two sisters, Patricia Lauria and Catherine Keely, both of Englewood, CO. Additionally; Agnes was adored by her 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Interment took place alongside her husband of forty-six years at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Mt. Dora, FL. The family is deeply appreciative of the caring professional staffs at The Grand Court Assisted Living facility, the Bayview Nursing Center, Florida Hospital Waterman, and the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, all located in Lake County, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Cornerstone Hospice Foundation – 2445 Lane Park Road – Tavares, FL 32778. Funeral services and internment will be held at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Mt. Dora, FL on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 9:00 AM.
