Yancey Rhett Black's Obituary
Yancey Rhett Black, aged 54, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2024. Born in Puyallup, Washington on Wednesday, October 22, 1969, Yancey was a man of honor and dedication. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the US Army for six years.
He met Lindsi through her brother. His life was rich with love, marked by a whirlwind romance with Lindsi, who became his wife after less than a year of dating and a heartfelt proposal from her. Together, they shared 12 years of marriage filled with joy and companionship. Yancey cherished the small family farm in Yakima, a testament to his love for nature and the outdoors.
Yancey worked as a General Manager for King Mountain Tobacco. His love for his family was matched by his passion for the Seattle Seahawks, for whom he was a super fan, traveling across the United States to attend games and cheer them on.
He moved to Tavares, Florida, from Yakima, Washington, two years ago.
Yancey is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lindsi; his mother, Margery Carlson of Puyallup, WA; his son, Aiden; his daughter, KayLee; his brothers, Fred Stern of Puyallup and Sean Black and his wife, Janna of St. Petersburg, Florida; his sister, Carmen Stern and her husband, Philip Kent of Seattle, WA; and extended family member, Laura Black of Puyallup. He is also survived by his nephews, Curtis, Caleb, and Chase, nieces Taylor and Alicia, and Godchildren, Breanne, Michael, Noah, and Emily, as well as many friends who became family along the way. Waiting for him above was his father, Harry, his daughter, Emma Li, baby Riley, and his niece, Jessica.
Yancey’s legacy is one of service, love, and unwavering support for his family and country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
