William John Yeager Jr.'s Obituary
William John Yeager, Jr., age 71, of Leesburg, FL passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018. He was born July 18, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Leesburg, FL in 2004 from Bucks County, PA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1965-1968. He then began his career with the Philadelphia Police Department 15th District, from which he retired after 20 years of service. While he was with the police department, he acquired the nickname “Quiz Kid” due to his curious nature and always wanting to learn. This also carried over into his outside life. A jack-of-all-trades; he loved traveling, boating, hunting, fishing, skiing, and parasailing. His family was the greatest source of joy for him. Bill will be fondly remembered for his unique sense of humor and practical jokes. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; mother, Helen; daughters, Kristen and Miranda and their families; stepchildren, John, Christina, Joseph, Janine and their families; siblings, Lynn, Susan, Joseph, David, Anthony, Stephen, Patrice and Michaele. He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Yeager, Sr.; and siblings, Jacqueline, Robert, John “Budd”, Marybeth and Geraldine. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 12:00PM until 12:30PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Wake Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:30PM. A Funeral Mass and interment will take place in PA. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
