William Charles Schumann's Obituary
William Charles Schumann, 98, of Leesburg, FL passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019. He was born on Sunday, February 06, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late William and Elizabeth Schumann. William fought for our grateful nation in the United States Navy during World War II. He was also a proud and devoted Firefighter for Jersey City, New Jersey for 28 years. William and his wife Patricia moved to Lake county, FL from Altamonte Springs, FL in 2005. He was an active member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis, FL. And a member of the Knights of Columbus for 61 years. William was a gentle soul with a kind heart who enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family. William is predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years: Patricia Ann Schumann; Sisters: Anna Gramlich, Edna Posio and Gloria Schumann; And Brother: Howard Schumann. He is survived by his Sons: Thomas (Carol) Schumann, of Deltona, FL and Richard (Brooke) Schumann, of Glen Gardner, NJ; Daughter: Elizabeth (Kenneth) Antos, of Eustis, FL; Sister: Elizabeth Sgambatti; Grandchildren: Paula, Kirstin, Rebecca, Erich, Reina, and Caleb; Great-Grandson: Jackson. and he was a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation at: www.firehero.org or The Wounded Warrior Foundation at : www. Wounded warrior project.org. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 07, 2019 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 08, 2019 at 11:00AM at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, located at: 218 Ocklawaha, Eustis, FL 32726.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place directly after services at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, located at: 3329 East Semoran Blvd. , Apopka, FL 32703.Services have been entrusted to Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, located at: 226 East Burleigh Blvd. Tavares, FL 32778. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on the tribute wall.
