mr ray rogers was one of the smartest and most genuine persons ive ever had the pleasure of knowing he his late wife georgia ran the minimart and pit bbq on main street in tavares.his sauce was the best ever and all the food was great!and he sold cokes and other soft drinks for 25 cents when other store were chargin 75cents or even a dollar.he fed me and my crew from lake county mosquito and aquatic plant management for many years.he even brought us all a batch of his famous sauce years after he retired.when i once wrote a song about all the changes in the town of tavares i includied the loss of mr.rays bbq as one of my dissapointments.ray asked me for a copy on tape whichi took to him .i hope he enjoyed it.i supported him whe he ran for city council.unfortunately he narrowly lost his bid.had he won the city would have been a better place in my opinion.to all his surviving faily and friends my heartfelt sympathy for your loss.god bless the soul of mr ray rogers / jim bridgewater
