William L. Ney's Obituary
William L. Ney, 82, of Umatilla, FL, formally of Rootstown, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, after a short battle with cancer, at his home. Bill was born on October 1, 1927 in Rootstown, Ohio, the son of Eugene and Anna (Kline). He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marilyn; daughter, Jodie Coia (Michael) of Ravenna, Ohio; son Brant (Sylvia) of Texas, 5 grandchildren: Derek, Curtis, Amy Haney, all of Texas, Stephanie and Kristen of Ravenna; 2 step-grandchildren: Nicole Montano of California, Jason Montano of Texas; and 6 great-grandchildren of Texas. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Bill enjoyed traveling and NASCAR for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grand-father, always the jokester with a big smile for all and lots of hugs. He was also a Korean War veteran, lifetime member of Ravenna VFW, and a member of the Charity Lodge #0530 in Deerfield, Ohio. Cremation with no calling hours was held in Umatilla, FL. A Memorial service will be held at Rootstown Grandview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
