William J. "Bill" Gaul's Obituary
William J. Gaul of Grand Island, Florida passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the age of 71 years. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to William Joseph and Eleanor Frances Gaul. Bill proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, serving on submarines. He was Catholic by faith. Bill was a retired engineer from IBM. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles, both in Eustis, FL, the AmVets in Mount Dora, FL, the Elks in Fredericksburg, MD and the VFW in Maryland. He enjoyed fishing and loved to play Golf. He also enjoyed boating, woodworking and gardening. He is remembered by and will be dearly missed by his wife of 46 ½ years, Shirley; daughters, Holly Rudy and her husband, Travis of Martinsburg, WV and Chantelle Hotchkiss and her husband, Ben of Evans, GA; brother, Jim Gaul of Vermilion, OH; sisters, Karen Gaul of Berea, OH and Peg Smallwood of Parma, OH and two grandchildren, Maddox MacArthur Rudy and Shepard Alan Rudy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society (Cancer.org) or Cornerstone Hospice (CSHospice.org). Condolences, memories, photos and videos may be shared on the tribute wall.
