William F. Dearborn's Obituary
William F. Dearborn, 89, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 28th, 2021. William was born in Mt. Pleasant, New York on November 9, 1931 to Edwin and Angelina Dearborn. William's childhood was spent growing up in Mt. Kisco, New York and later moved to Shirley, Long Island. He attended Port Jefferson High School where he met Vivian. He lived on Long Island until 1983 when he relocated to Florida. He moved to Mount Dora in 2005 when William and Vivian both retired.
William enjoyed gardening and took pride in his colorful wildflower gardens. Being an accomplished, award-winning watercolor artist, he spent much time experiencing the beauty of nature. He was a member of the Davie, Florida Art Group. William enjoyed woodworking which included creating intricate items with his scroll saw. He created wooden bowls, bird houses, chess and checker sets, jewelry and sewing boxes, all given away to family , friends and neighbors. He often said the pleasure was in making the item and then giving it away.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Vivian Holmes Dearborn. They celebrated and renewed vows on their 60th wedding anniversary at St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Mt. Dora, Florida. Daughter, Donna Watson-Kelley (Hal Dean Kelley) of Colorado, son, Steven Dearborn (Tiffany Dearborn), brother, James Dearborn (Joan) of Florida, sisters; Margaret Viera and Dorothy Swarm, both of New York and three grandchildren; Evan Reichert of Colorado, Ethan Dearborn of Virginia and Ryan Dearborn also of Virginia.
A gathering of family and friends for William is scheduled for Monday, July 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, Florida 32778. Funeral Services are scheduled for the following day at Steverson's beginning at 11:00 AM with Father Hank Sargado from St. Patrick's Catholic Church officiating. William's place of rest will be at Pine Forest Cemetery, Mt. Dora, Florida immediately following William's services.
