William D. Blundell's Obituary
Mr. William D. Blundell, of Tavares, Florida, formerly of Astatula, FL, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the age of 96 years. He was born in Woodhaven, Long Island, New York to Theodore D. and Mary Victoria (Prince) Blundell. He married Mary Theresa Hanley. Together, they moved to Astatula from Springdale, Connecticut in 1957. He worked for the Howey Supermarket for 19 years as a grocer and butcher until his retirement in 1976. Bill enjoyed gardening and was a stamp and coin collector. He also enjoyed bowling many years ago. But, through the years, he was known mostly for his quick wit and great sense of humor, always having a joke ready to tell. Bill relocated to Grand Court in Tavares 6 years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Theresa in 1993 and granddaughter Sherri Lynn Blundell in 1987. He is remembered by his sons, Bill Blundell and his wife Gloria of Tavares, Arthur Blundell and his wife, Judy of Mount Dora, FL; daughter, Eileen Blundell of Inverness, FL; brother, Charles Blundell of Webster, NY, grandchildren, William Blundell of Orlando, FL and Catherine Simmons of Newsoms, Virginia; as well as 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL32778, www.cshospice.org Family and friends gathered at the grave site on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Astatula Cemetery, Astatula, FL.
