Wayne Stone's Obituary
Matthew “Wayne” Stone of Leesburg passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the age of 61 years. He was born in Fayetteville, NC and moved to this area as an infant. Wayne was Baptist. He graduated from Tavares High School and attended Lake-Sumter Community College. He was a graduate of Florida Bankers School of Banking at the University of Florida. He was a retired banker from Citizens National Bank of Leesburg. He was also a huge Florida Gator fan. Wayne was very active in the community volunteering at Treadway Elementary School, he coached Tavares Babe Ruth Little League, was on the board of Pack 43 Cub Scouts and was a member of the Elks. He also loved camping. He was preceded in death by his father, Asa “AC” Stone and his step-son, Jonathan Tallman. Wayne is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife, Ann Tallman-Stone. They were together for 32 years. He is also remembered by his daughter, Heather Stone of Tavares; mother, Frances J. Stone of Tavares; brother, Michael (Kathy) Stone of Tavares; grandson, Adrian Stone of Leesburg and his nephew, Christopher Stone of Los Angeles, CA.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Saturday, October 17 from 10am-11am with a funeral ceremony starting at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Tavares Cemetery.
