Walter Barlow, Jr., age 90, of Tavares passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013. He was born March 2, 1922 in Chester, PA. He was a Deacon & long-time member of Glenolden PA Congregational Church & choir member; member of Congregational Church Mt. Dora, Sunday School Teacher – Jr. High Class; Mason – Scottish Rite; GlenNor Football – undefeated season; basketball; attended Allegheny College, Chapel Hill, as part of the US Navy Pilot Training Program; flew during WWII and Korean Conflict, US Navy and US Navy Reserve Lt. ; President of Community Shangri-La HOA; Sales Engineer General Electric; active in PTA in Salisbury Township Schools; member of Norwood VFW; American Legion; Elks Club; loved golfing, boating and dancing. He is survived by his wife, Mary C. Barlow; daughter, Elaine Parker Shipman (husband Dave Shipman); granddaughters, Penny Parker, Wendy Parker; great- granddaughter, Elaina Faith Parker; son, W. Thomas Barlow, (wife Clara Barlow); grandchildren, Sara E. Barlow, Christian W. Barlow, Heather R. Barlow; great- grandchildren, Miles Barlow, Lilly Barlow; daughter, Susan B. Pezzuto; granddaughter, Kimberlie S. Pezzuto; daughter, Aimee Barlow & Randy Crowder; grandchildren, Laurie Hamilton, Adam De Felice; great- grandsons, Austin J. Chouinard, Benjamin A. Chouinard; son, Andrew J. Barlow; sister, Elizabeth M. McCausland. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service will follow at 4:00PM in the chapel.
