Virginia Dare Mickler's Obituary
Mrs. Virginia Dare Mickler, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Eclectic, Alabama and moved to Lady Lake when she was 5 or 6 years old. Virginia attended elementary school in Lady Lake and High School in Leesburg, where she met her husband to be, Harley. After they married, they owned and operated a plant nursery in Tavares from the mid 1930’s until 1970. Virginia taught Sunday school at the Methodist church many years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tavares. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Harley in 1994 and her daughter, Margaret Poage in 2008. She is remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Myrtle Mickler of Zellwood, Florida, son-in-law, Joe Poage of Nicholasville, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.A graveside ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Tavares Cemetery.
