Velma Cain's Obituary
Velma Cain passed away peacefully, after a full life, at the age of 94 on January 27, 2020 at her home in Tavares, FL.
She was predeceased by her mother – Mary King Cauley, father - M. Brantley Cauley, and brothers – Carl Cauley, Raymond Cauley, Ralph Cauley and Earl Cauley. She was predeceased by her first husband, James E. Whitworth. Velma then married Albert S. Cain in 1954 and is also predeceased by him as well as her son – James ‘Jimmy’ Whitworth, and daughter – Sheree D. Cain Bailey.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth J. Roberts Whitworth and her grandchildren, Naomi M. Bailey, Jeremiah N. Whitworth and Cherish S. Bailey.
Velma was born in Douglas Georgia on January 3, 1926. Velma relocated from Georgia to Tavares in the 1970s. She was of the Christian faith. She carried with her nearly a century-worth of memories and saw the world change in her lifetime. In her younger years, she loved to dance and go out on the town with friends. She became a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved deeply by her family. Velma was a home maker for most of her life and had a passion for landscaping and taking care of the beautiful plants and flowers in her yard. She was a hard-working, strong woman who could always bring a smile to your face with her personality. Velma was a refined, classy and beautiful person, inside and out.
She will be sincerely missed by those she has left here and will be received with love by those who have been waiting for her there.
