Thomas Joseph Turner's Obituary
Thomas Joseph Turner, 89, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, November 27, 2020. Thomas was born in Staten Island, NY on December 4, 1930 to Agnes (Dunn) and John G. Turner. He is survived by his wife, Joan E. Turner (Buttle) of 68 years, his 7 children Nancy A. Rofrano (Nick Ruggerio), Kathleen Ward (Joseph Dowd), Janet Turner Lieggi (Martino), Tama T. Adams (Neil), Thomas J. Turner (Anna), Joni Harkins, and Richard M. Turner (Noris) along with 17 grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Peter (Kathryn). Thomas is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings John, Edward, Alice Pierre, Margaret Timper, Susan Taren and A. Patricia Durante. He is also survived and loved by numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomas was a friend to so many. His legacy will continue for many years to come.
Thomas served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Alaska from October 1951 to October 1953. Thomas worked for 20 years for Western Electric and then the New York City Transit Authority from 1970 till his retirement in 1992.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares, FL.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 9:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mt. Dora, FL. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis, FL.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date in New Jersey.
