Thomas 'Tom' Anderson Hanna's Obituary
Thomas Anderson ‘Tom’ Hanna of Tavares, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late, Thomas Anderson and Louise Hanna. Tom proudly served his country in the US Navy in the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life, Nan, in June 1954. Tom was a Christian Minister working in many ways to spread the good word of the Lord, including prison ministry. He also owned One Way Painting in south Florida for many years. Growing up in Alabama, he was a huge fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Tom was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. He loved to play Golf in his free time. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Nan; son, Mark Anderson Hanna and his wife, Roxie of Orlando, Florida; daughter, Rachel Lynn Smith and her husband, Keith of Leesburg, Florida; grandchildren, Joshua Gibson and his wife, Nichole of Asheville, North Carolina, Jeremy Gibson and his wife, Nita of Argillite, Kentucky and Brandy Stewart of Orlando; as well as 6 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Wednesday, November 1, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. A funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Calvary Chapel in Leesburg. Burial will military honors will be at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Thursday at 2:30 pm.
