Thomas R. Brinkley's Obituary
Thomas R. Brinkley of Tavares, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the age of 84 years. He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Tom served his country in the US Army for two years. While living in Pennsylvania, Tom drove truck, delivering steel from Pittsburg to Chicago. He moved to this area from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania in 1983. During his frequent trips to the Post Office, he met Joan Donovan. After dating for 2 years, they were married and have shared 22 years together. Tom went into the insurance business after moving to Florida, selling life insurance for 37 years and only retired 5 years ago. He was an avid Golfer and a member of the Mount Dora Golf Association. He was also a member of the Adventure Christian Church in Tavares.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William “Bud” Barr in 2011. Tom is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife, Joan; sons, Tim (Michele) Donovan of Dallas, GA and Ben (Amy) Donovan of Lake Stevens, Washington; daughter, Christy (Tony) Karr of Raleigh, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kaci, Kolten, Elizabeth, Jamie, Tina and Jessica; and 5 great-grandchildren, Gabe, Nyla, Mario, Anthony and Elliana.
