Theo E. Rose's Obituary
Mrs. Theo E. Rose of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the age of 92 years. She was born in Holmes County on the Florida Panhandle. Theo moved to this area in 1951. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Port Charlotte. She enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to Gospel and Blue Grass music, especially the Gaithers. Theo also enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. While living in Leesburg, she was a charter member, helping to start the Haines Creek Baptist Church. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her sons; Ray W. (Linda) Lewis of Bonifay, FL, Douglas Allen (Theresa) Rose of Fruitland Park, FL and Phillip Raymond Rose of Leesburg; daughters, Janice Rose of Tallassee, AL, and Cheryl Rose (Carl) Velte of Port Charlotte, FL; as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Douglas Rose, her daughter, Marion Rose Sczykutowicz, three brothers and two sisters. Friends and family are invited to gather for viewing on Thursday, January 31 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. A funeral ceremony will start at 1:00 pm on Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL. Condolences and memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
