Teresa Imogene Moore's Obituary
Teresa Imogene Moore of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Uniontown, Kentucky. In 1953, Teresa met Vernon Clement Moore. After a short courtship, they were married in 1954. She and Vern moved to Eustis, Florida in 1969. Jean, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, worked as an LPN for many years at Waterman Hospital. She retired in 1996. Jean was also a homemaker, taking good care of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved to cook. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Jean was a member of The Father’s House church in Leesburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sergeant First Class Vernon Clement Moore (RET) after 56 years of marriage. She was also preceded by all eight of her siblings. Jean is remembered and will be dearly missed by her, daughters, Sarah Ann (Fredrick) Darby of La Vergne, Tennessee and Pamela Jane (Danny) Ferguson of Leesburg; sons, Vernon Scott Moore of Oceanside, California, Dennis Paul (Lesley) Moore of Leesburg and Jeffrey Martin Moore of Leesburg; sister, Gayle Nelson of Kentucky; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 11:00AM until 12:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A memorial ceremony will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00PM.
