After high school he enlisted in the Army, and was honored to have served his country in Viet Nam. Steve worked for 20 years as an Internal Auditor for the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a resident of Leesburg, FL for 26 years before moving to Deltona. Steve was a Mason, with membership in the Mt.Dora Lodge, and the Tavares Lodge; a member of the Scottish Rite, and the Bahia Shrine in Maitland, FL. He loved to travel; having visited all 50 states and many foreign countries. He especially enjoyed cruising the European rivers and the many ‘road trips’ he and his wife Gail would take. Steve is survived by his wife Gail, his sister Kathy Kaufman (Scott) of CA., he was very proud of his two nieces Elizabeth and Jennifer. Steve embraced his new family and referred to his step-sons as ‘the boys’; Gary Hinton (Dana) of Deltona, and Gil Hinton (Lori) of Deltona. You could see the love and joy when he spoke of ‘the girls’, granddaughters Alexa Hinton, Dahlia Hinton and Jade Hinton. Steve enjoyed the neighborhood pot lucks in the circle, so he could share his travel experiences with his friends of Golf Club Estates. There will be a Memorial Service held on Monday, November 16th, at 1PM, at the Bahia Shrine, 2300 Pembrook Drive, Orlando, Florida 32810.
