Stephen Maleski's Obituary
Mr. Stephen Maleski, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the age of 92 years. He was born in Jersey City, NJ. Stephen served his country in the Air Force in WWII in the Philippines. He moved to Mount Dora, FL from Jersey City in 1949 and recently relocated to Gainesville. Stephen retired from Prudential Insurance after 23 ½ years. He was a member of St. Edward’s Episcopal Church in Mount Dora, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion of Mount Dora, Masonic Lodge, Shriners and Eastern Star of Mount Dora and the Elks Lodge of Eustis, FL. Stephen was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Elizabeth in 1992. He is remembered by his wife of 16 years, Marjorie; son, Stephen W. (Melody) Maleski of Tavares, FL; step-son, Richard A. (Judi) Moots of Winter Haven, FL; step-daughter, Barbara Horner of Palm Bay, FL, as well as 6 grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “Popeye” and several great grandchildren. The family invited friends to gather for a viewing on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home. A graveside ceremony was held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11 am at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis.
