Selma Jean Sperry's Obituary
Selma Jean Sperry, age 89, of Mt. Dora passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017. She was born March 13, 1928 in Greenville, SC and moved to Eustis in 1940. She was a retired teacher, having taught at Eustis Elementary School for 22 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sperry Smith of Mt. Dora, FL; and granddaughter, Shayna Ashley Smith of Mt. Dora, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Nelson Sperry; son, Jack Nelson Sperry, Jr., and a brother, William Ben Pearce, Jr. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00PM. Interment will take place at Tavares Cemetery.
