Sara Graham Ware's Obituary
Sara Graham Ware, 82, of Tavares, FL, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024.
Born on December 10, 1941, in DeLand, FL, she was the daughter of Olive Shaw Graham and John Louis Graham. Sara graduated from Fairfax Hall School in Virginia and continued her education at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. She then embarked on a 30-year career as a flight attendant with National Airlines, later joining Pan American Airlines (PanAm). Her job took her to various corners of the world, enriching her life with countless memories, though her heart always remained rooted in the love of her family and home.
In 1966, Sara married Robert (Bob) A. Ware, and together they raised their daughter, Shaw, in Boca Raton, Florida. The family shared many cherished adventures, including memorable Thanksgiving camping trips at Fort Wilderness, summers spent in Lake Toxaway, NC, and ski vacations in New Hampshire, all which held a special place in their hearts.
In retirement, Sara and Bob moved to Mount Dora, Florida, where they made many lifelong friends and found deep connection and community. They were active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Dora and enjoyed participating in social events at the Mount Dora Yacht Club.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John L. Graham Jr., and her beloved husband, Bob Ware. She is survived by her daughter, Shaw Ware and son-in-law Mario Maenza of Orlando, FL; her brother Richard S. Graham of Ormond Beach, FL; her sister Mary Shaw Padgelek of Athens, GA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a wide circle of long-time friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the dedicated caregivers at Osprey Lodge (now Alto Tavares), Guiding Hands, and Cornerstone Hospice for their compassion and care during Sara’s final years.
An intimate celebration of Sara’s life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel, 226 E. Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, FL 32778. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (EST), with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 11:00 AM (EST).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sara’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Dora, Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, or any charitable organization of your choice.
