Ruthann Williams' Obituary
After a brief hospitalization, Ruthann Williams was too soon called home to God on October 25, 2013.
Ruthann was the daughter of Joseph and Angela Burns, sister of Joseph and Paul Burns, and grandmother of Mustang Williams, who all preceded her in death.
Ruthann left behind on earth her son Matthew Williams and his children Brendan, Thomas and Lane; her son and daughter -in-law, Mark and Michelle Williams and their children Hooker and Piper; her daughters Robbins and Kelly Williams; her son and daughter-n-law, Michael and Kristina Williams and their children Anders and Everett; and her cousin Edward Burns his wife, Barbara and their many beloved children and grandchildren.
Though Ruthann's many accomplishments are no measure of her fullness and love of life, a brief glimpse into some of her achievements reveals a hint at the source of her breadth and depth of life. A graduate of Newark Teacher's College, teacher, entrepreneur, co-founder and operator of Lane Robbins Nursery School/Kindergarten and Day Camp, Republican activist, owner and operator of The Potting Shed florist, print and radio journalist, radio talk show host at WCTC in New Brunswick, NJ, published poet, novelist and agent are just a few of her unsung adventures.
And while Ruthann often lived under the radar, she indeed approached life as an adventure. Always game to travel on her own, or relocate to a new community, Ruthann bloomed where she was planted, making a home, cultivating a life, and gathering and a vast array of beautiful, friendships, which she always sought to nurture, and on which she thrived.
Ruthann's love of family, faith in people and trust in God enriched not only her own life, but each of her family members and friends. Though Ruthann's passing creates an unfathomable emptiness, her desire would be that such a loss would not overshadow her ardor for life, but rather that the patience, forgiveness and love she exemplified throughout her life be her lasting legacy.
A requiem mass will be held for Ruthann at St Patrick's Parish in Mount Dora, Florida on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.
Immediately following the mass you are cordially invited to celebrate Ruthann's life with her friends and other loved ones at a memorial reception in the Beau Claire Room at the Lakeside Inn, in downtown Mount Dora.
