Russell R. Penrod's Obituary
Mr. Russell R. Penrod, of Astatula, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the age of 78 years. He was born in Moracco, Indiana and served in the US Army. He and his wife, Joyce, moved to Astatula from Clayton, Indiana in 1991. Russell was a retired machinist from Link Belt in Indianapolis. He loved to fish and play Golf. He coached soft ball in Indiana, was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and rode his motorcycle through 49 states and most of Canada. Russell was a member of Mid-Lakes Christian Church in Tavares.He is remembered by his wife of 56 years, Joyce; son, Daniel Penrod and wife, Janet of Kokomo, IN; daughters, Jerri Slocum and her husband, Michael of Fillmore, IN, Judy Neier and her husband Ray of Roachdale, IN and Jo Anne Hinesley and her husband, John of Danville, IN; brothers, Jack Penrod of Indianapolis, IN and Larry Penrod of Scottsville, KY; sister, Donnie Parks of Indianapolis as well as 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.Friends gathered on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 10 - 11 am for the viewing. A Funeral Ceremony followed at 11 am, all in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the American Lung Association, 851 Outer Road, Orlando, FL 32814. Arrangements were entrusted to Steverson-Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares, FL, 352-343-4444.
