Rudolf S. Gustafson II's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Rudolf Sigfrid Gustafson II (known by all who knew him as either “Gus” or “Rudy”) born on April 17, 1954 in Fort Payne, Alabama to his parents LaVica and Rudolf Gustafson. Died in the early morning of March 7th due to medical complications. Gus is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, BuHui Gustafson, his 5 children and their spouses, Heather (Michael), Craig (Nadia), Shawn (Danny), Jay (Mesha), and Ryan (Montana), along with his 7 grandchildren, LaVica, Lauren, Aiden, Teja, TyLi, Chloe, and Jay Jr.
He graduated from Sanford High School in Sanford, Florida, after which, he joined the Air Force. While serving his country, he also received his Associate’s Degree in Arts and Applied Science from St. Leo College. After his time in the Air Force, he worked for many years as a Quality Assurance Supervisor at Lockheed Martin in Chesapeake, Virginia.
During his time in Hampton Roads, Virginia, he served as treasurer for ABATE of VA and was a member of various motorcycle clubs. He volunteered countless hours planning and organizing charity events and poker runs for fallen friends. He attempted to retire to Florida, but found himself working several more years at the Avon Park Air Force Range once he got there. He finally settled in Clermont, Florida, along with his loving wife, to live out his days laughing, riding, storytelling, farting, and spending time with his grandkids.
If you were fortunate enough to know Gus, then you know he loved his family, his country, his Harley, and having one heck of a good time. We’re inviting friends to join us in remembering Gus at the American Legion Post 35 in Mount Dora, Florida from 11am to 2pm on Sunday, April 13th. Come out and have a beer, a laugh, and share some stories. We will follow with a bike ride through his hometown of Altoona to release some of his ashes.
