Royden Myred Vroman's Obituary
Royden Myred Vroman, 80, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Roy was born October 3, 1936 to William Peter and Sarah Naomi (Merkey) Vroman in Nantmeal, Chester County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Warwick High school in 1955.
Roy served in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid from 1956 to 1960. Afterwards he married his beautiful bride, Donna Kay Overdorf in 1960. (Spring City, Pennsylvania)
Roy worked as a steel worker at the Techalloy Company (Rahns, Pennsylvania) in 1962 and retired from there in 1980 before relocating to Florida. In Florida he worked at Armco Steel in Wildwood, eventually retiring in 1998. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed bowling, fishing, and golf with his children and grandchildren. He bowled in several leagues at Classique Lanes/Breakpoint Alley in Tavares, where he developed many long lasting friendships.
Roy is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Royden Mark Vroman (Lori); daughter, Terri Lynn Reynolds (Bruce); grandchildren, Royden Michael Vroman (Sara); Steven Tyler Vroman (Adele); Christina Marie Haines (Bryan); Bruce Grahlmann Reynolds; and Brad Grahlmann Reynolds; gr-grandchildren, Royden Marcus Vroman; Claire Sophia Vroman; and Liam James Vroman; brother, Victor Leon Vroman; sister, Phyllis Migala; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Gwen Marie Vroman; sister, Sarah Mae Etzler; and brother James Monroe Vroman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 10a.m. at Steverson, Hamlin, and Hilbish Funerals, Tavares Florida. Burial will follow at the Tavares Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, December 22nd, at Steverson, Hamlin, and Hilbish Funerals, in Tavares.
