Ronald Jay Swindler's Obituary
Ronald Swindler, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 19, 2025,
at the age of 95. He was born on January 22, 1930, in West Lafayette, Indiana, to Harriet and
Duane Swindler.
Ronald was a proud graduate of Purdue University, where he earned his degree in mechanical
engineering.
Ronald served his country as a Navy veteran during the Korean War.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Ronald had a deep love for the
outdoors. He found joy in lawn bowling, golf, and off-road motorcycle riding, and travel. He and
his wife, Elaine, who preceded him in death after 69 years of marriage, traveled the country in
their motorcoach and enjoyed many trips together. His wisdom, generosity, and kind spirit will
be deeply missed.
He is survived by his children, Debbie and Jay, as well as two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, and his son, Daniel.
Ronald’s legacy of love, adventure, and lifelong learning will live on in the hearts of those who
knew him. The family will hold a grave side service at the Florida National Cemetery at a future
date
