Dear Sandy, Sue, Paula, Ed, Nancy, Kelli, Rob and Little Ronny,
I got to know Ron as my friend when we were only 8 years old! I sat behind him in 3rd grade. We chatted about our respective farms and tried to out-do each other about how much work we little kids had to do on our dad's farms. He was always dressed up with a sweater and shirt and looked like anything but a farm kid. You might say he was debonair! I liked that well-dressed farm kid!
About 25 years later, after lots of life's twists and turns, he came to my mind as the perfect man to introduce to my dear friend Sandy. They were soo....nervous on that first "date." Sandy and I reupholstered some old furniture, built a nice fire in our fireplace, got some wine and called him up to come on over to our house. And miracle of miracles...he came! That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship that lasted almost 39 years. Not nearly long enough.
Ron's death is a reality check/shock to all of us who have reached the age of 70 and whose greatest joy is all you kids and your kids. We will miss him terribly, even though the "traveling years" have not allowed must visiting. We send our love, our sympathy and our support. We are here for you if and when you need us.. May God watch over you and give you peace.
Your friends,
Kathy and Dick Starr
My deepest sympathy to the family of Ron. I met him while working for his dentist. He was such a nice man and always talked of his family.
